over Dit project

I want to offer an eco-friendly alternative to traditional cement and clay tiles. Through meticulous research & development, I have created Topia Tegel & Mosaics using a regional sustainable mixture of magnesium oxychloride and hemp fibers. This material combination significantly reduces CO2 emissions, meet EU taxonomy and LCA requirements, and represent a breakthrough in eco-conscious construction & art materials. This project showcases a strong commitment to environmental responsibility through art and design.

Over de makers

As a Swiss-born designer with multicultural background Sarah-Laura embarked on a transformative journey spanning three years, delving deep into the world of material combinations.

Through extensive research and a multitude of experiments, she successfully created Topia Tegel in collaboration with Arne H.—a groundbreaking tile that harmoniously merges sustainability and ingenuity.

Her dedicated efforts led to the development of a precise recipe and the discovery of a unique methodology to achieve a sealed, shiny surface without the need for unsustainable materials or the use of heat. This remarkable breakthrough positions the work as a potential candidate for EU taxonomy and LCA compliances, while significantly reducing CO2 emissions.

Her creations tell a powerful story of collaboration, passion, and determination—a testament to her shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Sarah-Laura wants to pave the way toward a greener future, one experiment at a time.
